GEOWEB - CELLULAR CONFINEMENT

SLOPE STABILIZATION – EARTH RETENTION - LOAD SUPPORT

GEOWEB is a 3-dimensional, high density Polyethylene, honeycomb mat; which allows local infill materials to be used (instead of costly aggregates), and still achieves great shear strength and stiffness, by improving the performance of your structural fill in a wide range of load support applications. These range from single layer road bases to multi-layer earth retention structures.

GEOWEB strengthens structural fill; via the hoop strength of the cell walls, the passive resistance of adjacent cells, and the frictional interaction between infill and cell walls. These mechanisms create a bridging structure with high flexural strength and stiffness; thereby improving the long term load deformation performance of common granular fill materials.

SLOPE STABILIZATION / EROSION CONTROL

The ability of the GEOWEB system to flex and conform to subgrade movement, make it particularly suitable for slopes, channels, dykes, etc. Ideal for protection of slopes exposed to severe erosive conditions and channels with continuous flows. These forms can be vegetated, stone filled, or concreted - eliminating formwork and expansion joints.

EARTH RETENTION

GEOWEB is used to create gravity walls or composite retaining walls. The load deformation performance is significantly different than an equivalent mass of unconfined fill material. Any granular local fill material can be used, eliminating the need to import costly wall material to the site. Walls can be constructed with near vertical outer surfaces, and withstand high external loading. In addition, the confined mass can tolerate large deformation without loss of structural integrity – a factor of vital importance for structures founded on compressible soils. The outer cells may be vegetated to provide enhanced aesthetics.
